Over there! It's Green- Jump! Hurray!
Disenchantment makes people rebellious, and thereby induces them to take U turns in their political ideologies. The CPI(m) leadership should have revamped it's 'dinosaurs' status quo to include new societal and environmental concerns to showcase the inequality in the 21st century. Left ideology in India, therefore, needs a thorough overhaul and not a burial.
Socialism is neither an easy thing to preach nor to follow: one needs to be strong willed to withstand the turbulent winds of onslaught by money power and to ward off the temptations of the greener pastures on the other side. Opportunists are everywhere, and it is not a surprise if only 240 are found!
And of course, every dog has its day :)
And of course, every dog has its day :)
Is it ?
ReplyDeleteCPM should merge into parent party CPI
ReplyDeletethose preach, profess, claim practising socialism should do one small favour for its credibility-- declaring their asset on their Facebook/ website or blog. wealthy people use socialism for their intellectual romanticism. Will you start?
ReplyDeleteMamata and CPM coming closer .
ReplyDelete"Rebellion is individual action; it has nothing to do with the crowd. Rebellion has nothing to do with politics, power, violence. Rebellion has something to do with changing your consciousness, your silence, your being. It is a spiritual metamorphosis."And each individual passing through a rebellion is not fighting with anybody else, but is only fighting with his own darkness. Swords are not needed, bombs are not needed. What is needed is more alertness, more meditativeness, more love, more prayerfulness, more gratitude. Surrounded by all these qualities you are born anew."
ReplyDeleteThank you
Rebellion, metamorphism, contemplation!!! Beware of the liberal use of such words
DeleteSree, neo liberalism and liberalism fundamentally differ. While the former was led by the progressive forces and heralded democratic world , reinforced individual's right and dignity , gave death blow to feudalism and religious madness, the latter is led by forces which aspire to turn the humanity into marketnity, make every individual reactionary consumer and capital to dominate eery aspect of life. Therefore, old parameters to judge the discourse and polarisation will lead us to wrong conclusion and turn every effort to mend things unrealistic. You will find a so called rightist speaking the langauge of Marxism and a so called socialists deliberating cultural identities, values of ethnic diversities. Neo liberalism is trying to paint the humanity with a single brush and single colour. the creativity of Kochi, Dibrugarh , Meerganj, Munger , Buldana, Telanagana, Arunachal get death knell under the totalitarian policy of market economy. You will have same Lullu Mall everywhere with the similar products .....machine is replacing man . therefore let the discourse take shape in natural course and dont brnad it with left and right.
ReplyDeleteTragedy with the communist movement in India is its leadership is bookish Marxist. They don't go to people and lead democratic consciousness rather follow regional, castist, communal parties, enter into alliance for short term gains. Communists should not be victim of parliamentary opportunism.
ReplyDeleteHow can communist movement in India be revived and revitalized? I think Communists have to shed their old baggage and review their position. the first thing is to make all efforts to end the disconnect between leadership and workers and people. Communists are known for struggles but Indian communists are known for seminars and column writings. Nothing wrong in writing in newspaper but when you get a column in a bourgeoisie newspaper like the Hindustan Times of Birlas you can not propagate ideology, can not attack capitalism, you will have to produce compromising piece as Sitaram Yechuri has been doing in the HT columns. He might be getting applaud from certain readers but he should ask himself that is he properly utilising his enegry for the expansion of CPM's social and political base? The leader of his stature could have played better role than his presently he is doing. But who will bell the cat? it is Arvind Kejariwal who has been attracting young idealists and people of anti establishment bent of mind who should have been ,in fact, part of the CPM. Can you throw light ? Being an old person and 'rightist' I can's consider my proposition adequate. if you could do , it would be enlightening . Do you know any good research on CPM?
