Will You?
Give me some time; I will
Crush the sound of the thunder
Give me some time; I will
Mend the roads of my blunder
Give me some time; I will
Break the shackles of my surrender
Give me some time; I will
Make your life cosy for winter
Give me some time...Some time
All I need is some time...
Crush the sound of the thunder
Give me some time; I will
Mend the roads of my blunder
Give me some time; I will
Break the shackles of my surrender
Give me some time; I will
Make your life cosy for winter
Give me some time...Some time
All I need is some time...
VERY NICELY WRITTEN . SEEMS U R STUDENT OF LITERATURE. SO POWERFUL AND OPTIMISTIC...STRONG MESSAGE OF PAST , PRESENT AND FUTURE..
ReplyDeleteWell, is literary language a bastion of only those who study literature? If so, where would Gorky, Kafka, Chekov and the likes would stand???
Deleteliterature and social sciences are integral if they are studies in holistic perspective. Premechand in India and Gorky in Russia are no less than social scientists as well as literary persons ....when literature's emphasis shifts from imagination and hypothetical world and get engrossed with social realities then such literary works become powerful appendix of Social Sciences , similarly when social Science goes beyond empiricism and constraints (self) created by (imposed) methodology and takes considerations of realities of human life (emotions, love etc) they match literature
DeleteVery well written :)
DeleteI found a good debate on this post : literature vs social sciences. credit goes to your critical talent and nuance . why dont you write a post on the same topic...it will felp others to participate.
ReplyDeletesocial science in India follows Western Social Scientists. right from liberalism to neo liberalism, capitalism, communism, secularism, modernity ,post modernity alp these concepts emerged in the Western social sciences in the last three hundred years. there are two dimensions-1. two third people of the world being compelled to acept things and theories which are not their realities. and 2. it made academics of the non western world lazy, parasitic . they follow, interpret , repackage rather than producing their own. Indian social scientists have veil of ignorance. they dont accept Kant's theory is present in their Mimansa! therefore decolonisation can be an intellectual and academic project .
ReplyDeleteHumanitarianism is a universal phenomenon. It cannot be categorically bracketed as Western or non western. It can be related as a stage of our finest evolution as human beings, when primordial instincts of the self take a back seat. Of course, we as a civilization had too many ideas but it coalesced within the webs of the upper caste elites, thus forbidding it's propagation to the masses. This is where, what you call them as - Kant, Socrates, Marx and the likes scored brownie points over their non western counterparts! We Indians are remarkable imitators. Are you ashamed? You don't have to be, HONESTLY, for successful imitation is also a far variant of creativity. You see, how successfully Hedgewarji and Golwalkarji conceptualised and implemented the idea of Indian Facism. Was it an idea that sprouted in the west? Nay, Hitler was of an Aryan breed. He carried a symbol of swastika, isn't it !
DeleteThe origin of ideas holds lesser relevance than the ultimate good it brings forth by its implementation. That's why doers are more popular than passive thinkers. The message of bhavad gita is also a call for action. Summing it up, action without vision is hobby and vision without action is a dream...
ReplyDeleteI am happy, being an old teacher living a retired life, that you reacted on my post. You are right one should not think in terms of West or East, what matters is common good. But it is too simplification of discourse. Two third of mankind is getting opportunity to contribute for 'common good'. Why ? This is the question needs to be contemplated. This shows weak intellectual quest as far as East is concerned. we may differ the reasons but not the central question . Dear , Sree, you are a brilliant child and it will be folly to contest your arguments. I am just quoting Rudyard Kipling(The Ballad of East and West):
ReplyDeleteOh East is East, and West is West
and never the twain shall meet
Till earth and Sky stand presently at
God's great judgement seat
But there is neither East nor West
Border, nor Breed, nor Birth
When two strong men stand face to face
though they come from ends of the earth.
As far Hedgewarji or Golwalkarji , I dont know much about them. I dedicated my life for Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalanayogam (SNDP) and have been doing social works. Since you raised the issue, I will try to find how could they imitate Hitler of Mussolini? Kindly give me some time to read about these two gentlemen. If I am not wrong they were founders of Bhartiya Janata Party.
Philosophy or agnostic only thinks but never experiences, and there are things which cannot be thought about: either you experience them or you don't. How can you think about truth, of which you have no experience? There is no way to think about truth.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way to think about love.
There is no way to think about beauty.
In fact, the moment you pinpoint some ultimate value for thinking, you immediately feel uneasy. For example, if somebody asks you, pointing to a beautiful sunset, What do you think about it? or to a beautiful rainbow, What do you think about it? obviously you are going to say, "It is beautiful," because you have never thought about whether you know beauty or not.You can love but you cannot define it.
You can be overwhelmed by love, you can be transformed by love, but still you will never be able to think about it. Thinking is a very low category, in fact the very bottom; you cannot go lower than that.
Being a agnostic turned believer, nature lover, feminist or philosopher is not something great. I hate the very word because it helps people to hide their ignorance. It never gives them a breakthrough into light, into life, into love, into existence. It blocks their path. Thoughts can create such a barrier that even if you are standing before a beautiful flower, you will not be able to see it. Your eyes are covered with layers of thought.
Dont take it to the heart these sentences. What I means is one should not have shoulds and should nots in their life, one should simply exist as it is.Life is so hilarious that to be serious thinking an explaining is to be sick unnecessarily.
