Slough of Despond

Take me to a Place of Peace So everlasting. May a philosopher's grave Be next to mine. For I would unravel the secrets With the Bearded Soul Of the mysteries those annoyed Day and night, hither and thither, In the Infinity of Time, Where it owns no price. Towards a better Foreign Policy

Distress Migration is a well known characteristic of the third world. The forces that compel this migration are complex and rarely one-dimensional- mostly, a matrix of desperation and escape! Kerala, though not the richest state has got some of the enviable human development indicators comparable to that of the advanced countries of the world- be it literacy, sex ratio, per capita income, standard of living etc. Can the communists have all the credits for these? If so, why were they so biased to Kerala where they could not afford a steady rule as compared to West Bengal? That means there were something more to Kerala's advancement than a mere commun...
